PATCO and Bolivian team prepare for Bolivarian Games
PATCO's Gustavo Svane was
in Tarija, Bolivia teaching a group of Bolivian officials
and triathletes about
the rules
and technical aspects of the sport.
The sixteenth
Bolivarian
Games will take place in Tarija,
Bolivia on
November 14th to 26th with
triathlon making its debut as
part of this year's event. In honour of
the 19th century
liberator Simón Bolívar, the Games hosts athletes
from all the nations visited by
Bolivar - Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama,
Peru and Venezuela.
Michel González Castro's Community Project in Havana
This community project aims to engage our top triathletes with young athletes of
their community. In this case, Havana's Michel González Castro interacts with the
triathlon club of his
municipality - Cerro.
Michel Gonzalez from Cuba is one of 12 athletes receiving ITU Athlete Scholarships.

IOC Athlete's Commission Recommendations
Susan Williams, 2004 Olympic Bronze Medallist, recently represented the ITU Athletes
Committee at the IOC International Athletes Forum in Marrakech, Morocco. The
recommendations
and follow-up information from that meeting can be found here.
Anti-doping:2010 List of Prohibited Substances now available
The World
Anti-doping Agency's 2010 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods is
now
available. This List will go into effect on January 1, 2010. The 2010 List offers
a number of changes compared to the
2009 List. In particular, the status of salbutamol
and salmeterol, two beta-2
agonists, has changed.
