ITU visit LOCOG to Discuss 2012
Leslie Buchanan and Thanos Nikopoulos, Technical Delegates for the
London 2012 triathlon competitions, conducted their latest site visit
and meetings in London recently. The two day extensive schedule
included discussions on the venue and the course layout.

Paratriathlon Meetings in Lausanne
On October 30 a meeting was held in Lausanne, Switzerland
between
the International Paralympic Committee and ITU.The purpose of this
meeting
was to
discuss ITU's forthcoming submission of paratriathlon
as a paralympic
sport and to gain intelligence about requirements to
succeed in this
quest.

Madrid Technical Officials Seminars
The Spanish Triathlon Federation and the ITU Events Department managed
a successful ITU Technical Official Level II Seminar with almost fifty
attendees from seven countries in Madrid.

Alanya Success for Malyshev & Klamers
Alanya in Turkey hosted the penultimate round of the ITU Triathlon
Premium European Cup season with victories for Russia's Yulian Malyshev
and Rachel Klamer from the Netherlands.

Whitfield Lights Vancouver Torch
The Vancouver Winter Olympic flame began its epic 45,000-kilometre
journey around Canada, as double Olympic triathlon medallist Simon
Whitfield lit the torch in front
of the British Columbia Legislature after its
arrival from Greece and
ran the first leg of the relay through Victoria's
Inner Harbour.
