Triathlon Family Mourns Emilio Di Toro
The Triathlon family was deeply saddened by the sudden death of Emilio
Di Toro, President of the European Triathlon Union earlier this week.
Emilio died suddenly from a heart attack on the night of Saturday 28
November. He was just 45 years old. Emilio
exerted considerable influence
in the world of sport in general and our
thoughts and condolences are with
his family, friends and colleagues.

Triathlon Included in All-Africa Games
We are delighted to announce that triathlon will be included in the 2011 All-Africa
Games. The preparation for and participation in the 2011 All-Africa Games in
Maputo, Mozambique, will offer a realistic opportunity for the ATU to
develop the sport of triathlon and duathlon on the continent," said
Liesbeth Stoltz, President of the African Triathlon Union.

London Age Group Race Entries Open
The Age Group race at the 2010 London leg of the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU
World
Championship is now open for entries. The race will give
amateur triathletes the chance to experience what it is would be like
to compete at the 2012 Olympic venue in front of huge crowds and to
finish in front of the grandstands of the triathlon stadium in Hyde
Park.

Mari Rabie Awarded Rhodes Scholarship
South Africa's Mari Rabie
became the first African triathlete to win a world
championship medal
when she took bronze in the under 23
women's race
in 2008. Aside from her passion for
sport, Rabie is an accomplished academic
and recently gained the Rhodes
Scholarship following a hard selection interview
to study at Oxford
University in England.

Anti-doping: Education Committee
ITU Director of Anti-doping, Leslie Buchanan, has been selected to sit
on the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) Education Committee from 1
January 2010. Her appointment will last for three years with the
possibility of reappointment after that period.

Every year WADA, after much consultation, publishes a new Prohibited List. The 2010
Prohibited List is available at here.
Since it has been released there have been a number of questions raised.
